SETTING YOURSELF UP for MATHS
RVPD is introducing a new format!
No two days are exactly the same and attendance on more than one day is welcomed and encouraged.
The details for each day are as follows:
Day 1:
This day will focus on Place Value and the Four Operations, including a whole range of effective and classroom-proven place value activities to engage your students. It will also highlight some highly effective strategies for each of the 4 operations. The day features a demonstration lesson in one of the classrooms at the school. Suitable for teachers from Foundation to Year 6 – A great way to set up your term 1, 2020.
Day 2-3:
Ready to Go! These two sessions are designed to give you a comprehensive kit-bag of warm-up activities for your students that you want & need to engage/fire up the class for maths. Both days include a demonstration lesson in one of the classrooms at the school that demonstrate how the activities work with kids. Day 2 is designed for Foundation to Year 2, and Day 3 is designed for Years 3 to 6.
Day 4:
The final day focuses on how to sensibly and effectively plan for maths in 2020, and will include lots of valuable digital resources for participants to bring home with them – including units of work that will make the planning that we do on this day come alive. The day will set up your maths planning for 2020 – and it will get your term 1 planned with lessons/activities set to go.
